Happy Birthday Tori

Just popping in with a card I made for my fav Starbucks!  The staff asked me to make a card for their manager's birthday.

I stamped the image "Miss You a Latte" from MFT with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I embossed the greeting onto a vellum banner and wrapped it around the card.  I realized after I made the card (it was 4.25 x 5.5) that it wasn't going to be big enough for all the staff to sign so I made another one....stop by tomorrow to see that one!

Candy Cane Kisses

I'm a few weeks behind in my SSSC card challenge to  myself but wanted to keep at them even if this is a few weeks late :)

This is the SSSC246 and I rotated the sketch once to work with my image.  I stamped the super chic gal "ALM Candy Cane Kisses" onto Bella's Bestest paper with Black Licorice Hybrid ink and coloured her with copics.  Of course my Wink of Stella pen was used here and there and I added a couple of snowflakes with a sparkly donut and bonbon in the middle.

Here are the copics I used.

Polished to Perfection - SSSC234

Today's card is a birthday card for a lovely young lady who loves purple, pink, teal and manicures!  I love making cards with the recipient's "loves" in mind.  The sketch is Karen's SSSC234 but I changed the circle element to an oval to fit the image.

I stamped Polished to Perfection onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  I added a generous amount of crystal effects to the nail polish bottle for shine.

For the sentiment strip I just repeated the stamp "Happy Birthday" in Grape Jelly ink and added a trio of buttons along the edge, as in the sketch.  I added a bit of bling with a teal brad in the middle button, because you can't have too much bling!

On the inside I did my fav fishtail flags in co-ordinating papers.

Here are the copics I used.

Starbucks - MFTWSC184

Those of you that know me, know I love my Starbucks and especially the store I go to every day before work - I love the staff there!  Last Thursday they did an amazing thing for me and some of my co-workers and I knew I had to make them a special thank you card.  I used this weeks MFTWSC184 sketch but rotated it once.

I stamped the image onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  The sentiment is stamped with Kraft ink onto the Fishtail Flags die-namics and wrapped some baker's twine around the top.  I coloured the cups as close to a real Starbucks cup as I could.  I was "forced" to go out today and get a Starbucks just to be sure I had the colours right :)

Here are the copics I used.

I can't wait to give it to them tomorrow morning!

Thank You

I made this as a thank you card for a sweet gal at work.  The sketch is loosely based on Karen's SSSC219 from a few weeks ago.

I stamped the image onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  The letters are paper pieced and covered with my Wink of Stella pen for some extra sparkle.  I made a small tab for the "Fabulous" sentiment.

Here are the copics I used.

UR Fabulous - MFTWSC128

Here's another card from my Saturday Stamp-a-thon and I love how this turned out!

I used MFTWSC128 but made my image panel a bit longer than the sketch.  She was too fabulous to cut any shorter :)  The letters are SO sparkly - I used lots of Star Dust Stickles and let it dry overnight.  I made the little sentiment tab using an old SU punch. (Sorry, not sure why this photo is so washed out).

I was trying to get only one strip of the Double Dot border die on the inside and accidentally got a tiny bit of the edge but I like the look.

Here are the copics I used:

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo black ink, MFT Black Licorice (sentiment), copics

Girl Talk - MFTWSC119

My card for this week's MFTWSC119 was a little tricky for me.  I didn't have the large scallop die-namic from the Blueprints 1or the Party Banner die-namic but a sketch is for personal interpretation, so I did just that :)

Even though I love my IPhone, I'm getting the itch for an IPad now after spending a week using my Mums!  I used the Turquoise Atyou Spica pen on her hairband and added two tiny rhinestones for the camera lens.

I used the larger of the Chevron Stripes die-namic on the inside and stamped the sentiment in MFT Black Licorice ink.  It stamps so crisp and clean - I LOVE this ink!!

Stamps:  ALM Girl Talk
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo black ink, Black Licorice ink, copics
Paper:  Confetti Cream, Retired TE KI kit
Other:  Open Zig Zag die-namic, SU Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder, Oval Stax 1 die-namics, rhinestones

Sweet Sunday Spa - SSSC181

It's been a while since I've played along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I love her sketches and for this one, SSSC181, I rotated it once to work with my image.

I really wanted the polish bottle to shine so added a layer of crystal effects.

Here are the copics I used.

Anchors away - MFTWSC80

I had so much fun making this card - I think it was the cute patterns on the paper not to mention the oh-so-cute ALM You Anchor Me girl!  This time I stayed true to the sketch exactly as it was - MFTWSC80.

The image is stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced her anchor with more of the fun paper from Echo Park Splash.  The card base is Berrylicious.  I used the "Ahoy" bit which is part of a sentiment from Claire Keay Ahoy Matey on a little Mini Wavy Pennants die-namic.  I love that MFT sentiments are so interchangeable!  The MFT die-namic Catch a Wave was perfect for some felt waves to splash in...she's actually got one foot still in the water :)

I used First Place Award Ribbon and Fishtail Flags MFT die-namics to make some little flags on the inside of the card.  I love doing the inside of the cards now!

Happy 4th of July - MFTWSC79

Happy 4th of July to my American friends!  I'm right on schedule with this week's MFTWSC79 and used the perfect image for today, the a-la-mode Firecracker!  I did flip the sketch a bit though.

I stamp her in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  Like the Pure Innocence girls, the a-la-modes are great for paper piecing and I made her a cute little sundress.  The paper is October Afternoon Boarding Pass with some SU Real Red and Night of Navy.  I used part of a sentiment from PI Lady Liberty stamping it on the First Place Award Ribbon die-namic.  The Stacking Stars die-namic made two perfect stars, one for the top sentiment banner  and I tried the faux epoxy sticker technique - I covered the star with stickles and after it dried I added crystal effects.  I added a bit of red ribbon and bow, placing the largest Stacking Star behind it.  The inside has a strip of the pattern paper using the Chevron stripes die-namic.

Last night was the first of two nights of fireworks for me and I LOVE fireworks!  Here's a little photo Karen took of me eagerly awaiting the fireworks to start and one of the big ones!

So, Happy 4th of July and Happy 1st to me - I edited this card and added my watermark all by myself after a wonderful lesson from Karen - thanks Karen!

Girl Talk - MFTWSC59

I'm squeaking this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch 59 just in time!  I used the ALM Girl Talk - and the new Vertical Greeting die to cut her out.  I love that this new die fits so many of the MFT images!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

The paper is from my scrap pile - sorry, I can't remember the name of it.  I paper pieced her Iphone and shaded it a bit on the edges.  I used the Divine Swirl embossing folder on the middle layer for a bit of texture.  The First Place Award Ribbon die was perfect for the sentiment and I kept it pretty simple with regards to embellishments - just a little flower with a green rhinestone in the middle.

Girl Talk is so important - what would we do without our girlfriends?!

Let's Celebrate - MFTWSC56

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 56.  Today's card is a special order birthday card and the Cheers a la mode was a perfect fit for this sketch.

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.

The pattern paper is MME Lost and Found Union Square.  I'm still loving the Tied Together embossing folder and not just because it's bigger at 5 x 7!  I paper pieced her dress, added some tiny twinkles around the scallop circle nestie and sponged around the edges to soften the white a bit.  The sentiment is included with the image and is stamped on the small banner of the First Place Award Ribbon die.  To make her glass of champagne pop, I added several layers of clear glaze pen.

Here's hoping the Birthday girl enjoys her day (and her card)!

Sweet Sunday Starbucks - SSSC149

Happy New Year!  It's a brand new year of stamping and I resolve to sew more and USE my stamping supplies!  I'm sure I'm not alone in stamping supply hoarding :)

This week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC149) was a great layout and one I'm sure to use again.  I needed a birthday card for a fellow Starbucks lover and Miss You a Latte was the perfect image!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with copics.

I went a bit crazy on the sewing but practice makes perfect, right?  The pattern paper is MME Darling Dear and the cardstock is SU Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze and Kraft.  I used the Lacey Circles nestie and the swiss dots embossing folder on the Baja Breeze circle.  I popped her up for a little dimension and used the Rolled Rose die to make a felt flower.  I even decorated the inside of the card too - but forgot to take a photo.

So, on my first card for 2012 I have sewing - check, used new pattern paper - check, used my felt stash to make a flower - check and used my new Baja Breeze seam binding - check!  No hoarding for this card - I'm off to a good start! :)

Happy Birthday Kate - MFTWSC49

For this week's MFTWSC49 I needed a birthday card for my sweet cousin in England.  It couldn't be too bulky - Canada Post frowns on that so I kept the embellishments as flat as possible!  I also flipped the sketch to suit the image.

I stamped I Need Some Face Time in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with copics.

The rest of the card came together pretty quickly because I used another TE Key Ingredients kit.  I think this one was called Easter and it's from last year.  The pattern paper is Basic Grey Kioshi and the little flowers that match were in the kit.  I'm so happy that the coat of crystal effects I put on the screen shows up nice and shiny!  Now I wish I'd written Happy Birthday on the screen first.  I popped her up and am hoping Canada Post will let this one squeeze by!

Happy Birthday Kate!

Candy Cane Kisses - MFTWSC47

Oooh, we're just over a month until Christmas Eve - where does the time go?!  I really liked the sketch for this week's MFTWSC47.  I used the ultra chic Candy Cane Kisses.  How sweet is she?  No pun intended :)

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

The paper is MME Be Merry and I used the Textile Rectangle die and the new Icicle Border die with some stickles added to it for some sparkle.  I used a red copic atyou glitter pen on her candy cane and two large sparkly dots at the top for even more sparkle.  Some lovely satin pink ribbon and this chic chick is ready for the holidays!

Graduation Cheers

I was asked to make a couple of graduation cards for Vicky and her only request was one had to have dark brown hair and one light brown hair (I've just shown one here).  My MFT order had just arrived so I knew exactly the image I would use!

I stamped the Cheers  à la modes from MFT in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it with copics.  I was surprised at how few copics I used - really just hair, dress and skin colours AND I used the same skin colours for the champagne - I just used a bit of the 0 copic to remove some colour from the champagne glass.  By the looks of my blurry copic photo you would think I'd been in to the champagne myself!! :)

I added several coats of clear glaze pen to the glass and paper pieced it so it was outside the rectangle.  The papers are Making Memories Brooke Paisley and Brooke Narr Stripe and the sketch is the MFTWSC20.  I was super excited with my MFT order and wanted to use as much of it as possible, so added a Simply Scallop border along the bottom and a Mini Rolled Rose Die-namic.  Thanks Karen, for suggesting I use the matching paper to make the rose - love it!

I didn't have a leaf die so I made my own.  I just cut an oval, free-hand, scored it down the middle and then ran it through my crimper  - voila - a leaf!

Well, Happy Graduation girls and Cheers to you!

Engaged......finally!

I LOVE this card!  Can I say that about a card I made myself? :)

It's for my dear friend Lindsay and Tyler who recently got engaged.  Well "recently" as in last summer and I've finally made their card!  I stressed about it.  It had to be perfect.  Not just any card would do.

I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC106), borrowed Karen's MFT A la mode Cheers stamp and it all came together beautifully.  I used some Basic Grey patterned paper, copics, the gorgeous lacey circle nestie, some little pearls and some stickles for her sparkly dress.

It's fun when you have a stamping friend who has lots of lovely things so I borrowed from Karen again and used her fab MFT Rosette & Rolled Rose dies for that gorgeous felt flower.

I gave it to Lindsay and she freaked....in a good way!  I hear she's even getting a shadow box to put it in so no sticky fingers touch it. :)
