Sparkly snowflakes

I love how this turned out!  Another super easy card to duplicate, assembly line style!

The card base is sprayed with shimmer mist - can't seem to stop using that!  I stamped a few random small snowflakes in white ink and added a tiny dot of red stickles to the middle of each one.  Then I used some sparkly red glitter paper to die cut some snowflakes (Tim Holtz) and added them to a bit of ribbon.  I put a sparkly dot in the middle of each of the snowflakes, stamped the sentiment (SU) and that's another card ready to go.

Hope you're having a good day.

More Wedding Wishes

Today's card is almost stamp-free LOL.  I based my card on one done by a SU demonstrator who I believe won an Artisan's Award with it and I'm sorry I can't find the link (if you know, please tell me and I'll link to her card).  I always like to give credit when it's not my creation :)

I embossed a piece of cream cardstock with the Lacy Brocade folder and then sprayed it with some Frost Shimmer Spritz.  I added flowers on top of a small heart doily and then stamped the sentiment from MFT CS About Anniversaries onto a strip of vellum and wrapped it around.  I think it's so pretty and the longest part of making this card was gluing all those flowers!

Happy Administrative Assistant's Week - Day 3

Today I'm showing the last card I made for my department.

I can't take credit for this layout.  I found it on Pinterest (sorry, no name to give credit to) and thought it was so pretty.  I stamped Big Words "Sometimes people forget" onto a fishtail flag and added some felt flowers I made from various flower dies.  The background stencil is Fishnet and I softly sponged on some distress ink.  A bit of ribbon, a doily and some rhinestones finished it off.

The inside has the rest of the sentiment "Never forget how great you really are, I mean it"....but in my hurry I forgot to take a photo of the inside - sorry.

Sneak Peeks - Day 1 - Happy 10 years!!!!

Ten years ago I was introduced to Stamping Bella by my friends Karen and Dana who were both BellaBabes themselves.  I remember driving to the store on a Saturday morning and just looking and looking and being SO happy....I called it my "happy place"!  I was sold on the Bella line immediately and one day while in the store with my two pals....who should come in but the Queen Bella herself - EMILY!!  I was over the moon at meeting her in person.  Here's my photo of us that day.  I am so happy and proud to now be part of Emily's Bellababe team!

So TODAY is the first day of the sneak peeks at Stamping Bella!!!!  It's 10 years since Emily started this absolutely fun, creative, so-true-to-life stamp company!  Happy Anniversary Emily!  If you haven't already looked at Day 1 click here and check them out!  There will be sneak peeks every day until June 25, (Emily's birthday), and then you can order!!

And don't forget to leave a comment there, as Emily will pick a random comment each day and the winner will win the new image!

Sweet Treats

This is a card I made for a sweet lady who sent in the most amazing spread of breakfast treats for us at work a few weeks ago.  The most beautiful box arrived filled with homemade scones, little pots of jam, butter, lemon curd and she even put in napkins and knives for us.  It was a gorgeous presentation and delicious treat!

I only stamped the sentiment, which I thought was perfect, from Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU).  The rest of the card is embellishments, card stock and die-namics - the Fancy Butterfly (MFT), the banner and scallop circle from First Place Award Ribbon (MFT) and the lace doily, ribbon and Flower trim is from SU.  I used a kraft note card with Marina Mist card stock.

A sweet thank you for some sweet treats!

Christmas night - SSSC257

Here is my card using the SSSC257 layout - and my first Christmas card for 2015!

The only stamping on this is the snowflake.  I wanted to try a blended sky and was pleased with it but need to practice a bit more.  I used four Tim Holtz Distress inks: weathered wood, dusty concord, tumbled glass and salty ocean and blended them all together with a blending sponge.  The die is from Memory Box and it's called Country Landscape.  I added some sparkle to the rooftops and a big, bright moon in the corner.

Vintage baby love

I was asked to make a baby card with a soft vintage feel to it.  This was totally out of my comfort zone but I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

There is no stamping at all on this card but I used several MFT die-namics for the felt flowers (Hybrid Camelia Flower and Royal Rose) and the word 'baby' (By The Letters).  The flowers were made with Puff Cloud White felt and I added some seam binding, a doily and a clothesline with some mini clothes pegs.  The paper is MME Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks.  I'm so happy with it and can't wait to see their reaction.

No stamps, no ink, no copics....oh my!

This card didn't use any stamps, copics or ink pads - how crazy is that?!  The sketch is Karen's SSSC240.

I die-cut the 50 from Big Numbers using Daffodil Delight cardstock and covered them with my Wink of Stella pen.  Then I added a generous coat of crystal effects.  They look so cool in real life :)

I mounted them on two pierced circles.  A little zig zag sewing around the edge and that was it - super fast and a fun card to make.

Wedding bells again

This is the second wedding card I referred to in yesterday's post.  Two cards for two different couples to give to the newlyweds.  I wonder if the bride and groom will recognize the paper :)

I used the same paper as it matched their wedding colours/theme perfectly.  Instead of an image this time I made a trio of felt flowers and added some silver dots to the middle.  I added the sentiment on a Fishtail Flag banner with a trio of rhinestones.  As silver was one of the colours I  just love how everything pulls together and sparkles on this card.

Happy Anniversary Diane and Rick!

This is another special order card - for a 26th wedding anniversary.  When I looked up that anniversary it said the colour was lavender so that was my starting point.

I used my new Big Numbers (I know these are going to be well used) die-namic, cut out two of each number and glued them together for a bit more stability.  I covered them with my Wink of Stella pen to give them some glitter and then a generous layer of crystal effects.  I love the end result!

The background is embossed with the fishnet stencil and I added the "26" to a circle and then over a paper doily.  It seemed to be missing something so I added a flower, then another and then another!

The sentiment is stamped on vellum and just wrapped around the card base.  I am really happy how this came together and wish Diane and Rick many more years of happiness!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 16

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had another sketch to work with.

I went TOTALLY out of my comfort zone on this one!

I have recently returned from a wonderful visit with my friends Danabella and Karen Motzabella!  Dana pulled out all her fun stamping stuff including new sprays and textured pastes which I have been intrigued with.  We spent most of one day getting messy and dirty - just look at Dana's thumbs...

...and if her hands weren't bad enough just look at the table!

I had so much fun just playing and getting messy that I didn't keep a list of exactly what I used to make my card.  I can't remember the exact colours, companies, etc., but it included a stencil, textured paste, distress inks and Lindy's Stampgang sprays.  I stamped the sentiment  from Uptown Girl Maybelline Loves Mail onto Bella's Bestest paper  and embossed it with black embossing powder.  I then sponged some distress ink around the oval and added a rhinestone to each side.

The background was made with the stencil and some textured paste.  After it was dry I sponged it with some distress inks and then put the stencil back on and gave it a final spray with Crème Brulee Cream spray which gives it a pretty sparkle (hard to see in the photo).  I love the softness of the sponged distress inks and how they just seem to melt into each other.  After trying these textured pastes and spray, I will admit, I'm liking them more than I thought....now I just have to get over the "mess" I will make with them :)

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is a gorgeous inspiration photo!

It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Happy 50th Anniversary

A 50th wedding anniversary is something to be very proud of and I was so happy to be asked to make this card for my BFF's parents!

There was very little stamping on  this - just the sentiment.  Gold is the theme for a 50th anniversary so I used it in the paper, the cord and the rhinestones.  I traced the numbers onto the gold paper and cut them out veeeeery carefully :)

The cardstock behind was embossed for some texture and I added the sentiment on a vellum banner with a trio of rhinestones.  I made three flowers from some MFT die-namics and added gold rhinestones to the middle of each.  The gold cord is just wrapped around three times.

I do hope they have a lovely celebration and wish them many more years of happiness!

Birthday thanks

I needed several thank you cards recently, so they needed to be relatively quick to make :)

I haven't done water colouring in years and since it's been popping up recently out in stamping blog-land, I decided to get out my Peerless Watercolours and have a go.

I used SU watercolour paper and painted on three colours letting them "bleed" into each other.  It really looked quite a mess when it was wet but once it was dry it looked lovely.  Here's a close up of the colours.

I used the Fancy Butterflies die-namic, cutting out one from the watercolour paper and glued another butterfly cut from vellum cardstock behind.  The "thanks" die was cut out twice and glued on top of each other to make it thicker.  I then covered it with crystal effects.  I like the way the butterfly is slightly bent - kind of looks like it's ready to fly away.

I quite enjoyed getting the watercolours out....you really can't go wrong with them.

Beautiful Butterflies - SSSC220

Yesterday was the Victoria Day holiday so I had a little time to do some stamping and played along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC220

I used one of the purchases from my trip to the MFT store 3 months ago - I haven't used even half of what I bought then....what does that say?  I bought too much?  Or I need more stamping time? :)

I loved this butterfly die-namic and this card came together so quickly, I made a spare to have on hand.  I cut the background butterfly out of vellum cardstock and used my Wink of Stella pen on the top butterfly.  A few random rhinestones and a bit of silver cord finished this card off.  The sentiment is stamped onto Bella's Bestest paper with Baja Breeze ink and I used the First Place Award Ribbon die-namic for the banner.

Here the second card I made using a different sentiment.

Happy Anniversary Michael and Vicky!

This is the special 30th Wedding Anniversary card I made for my friends.  I looked up 30th Anniversary and it was pearls so I went with a soft cream look and of course, some pearls!  The card was being hand delivered to their "surprise party" so I knew I could "bump it up" as I used a clear cello bag for the envelope.

I made the flowers using vellum cardstock, some MFT die-namics and once they were assembled gave them a light spray of glimmer mist.  The sentiment is stamped onto some vellum and then wrapped around the cream cardstock which I embossed.  I added some pearls to the middle of each flower and a row of tiny pearls under the sentiment.

They were totally surprised and it was a lovely party for a very special and very loved couple - here's what 30 years of love looks like!

Happy Birthday - SSSC213

I saw this cool idea for a birthday card for my boss a while ago on Pinterest.  I can't find the original card but it did come from this SU demonstrator's blog.

The sketch is SSSC213 which was perfect for this little guy.  I used the Owl Builder punch to make the owl and personalized him with a stethoscope which I made with the oval punch.  I added a black rhinestone in the middle to make it a little more realistic.

The sentiment is stamped in Steel Gray ink and I kept the card glitter-less as my boss doesn't like glitter :)

Thank You

I made this card and loved that it came together so quickly!  I used SSSC210 layout again, and there's really no "stamping" on it except the sentiment.  I used another stencil to softly emboss the background - I'm loving this look.

The hardest part was deciding which MFT flower die-namics to use - they are so much fun to make!  I couldn't resist adding some glitter to them with my Wink of Stella pen.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.
