Pumpkin Spice time

It's that time of year....Pumpkin Spice time at Starbucks!  I made a Pumpkin Spice loaf to give to my fav Starbucks store and made this card to go along with it.  I was doing a massive clear out of all my "saved for later" posts in my Feedly and came across this technique from Jennifer McGuire which is where my card idea came from.

I stamped the cup (Paper Smooches) with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I used a stencil and some texture paste that I coloured with some Antique Linen distress ink for the background.  I had some of the paste left and didn't want to waste it so made another card.

The little girl is from Pumpkins on the Vine (There She Goes) and I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.

I'm excited to deliver my Starbucks treat to them tomorrow!

Snowdudes

I added some more cards to my Christmas box - it's looking much better now!  I like to challenge myself to make as many cards as I can from one 12 x 12 sheet of pattern paper which is easy if I keep the layout simple.

I stamped two of the many snowman images from "Swanky Snowdudes" onto Bella's Bestest paper with Black Licorice Hybrid ink and coloured them with copics.  Colouring snowmen is super fast - basically a nose, hat and scarf!  I made the snowbanks sparkle with lots of glitter.

I added a sentiment on a Fishtail Flag with a Tiny Twinkle for some more sparkle.

Here are the copics I used.

Christmas Bliss

There is no better way for me to start my day than with a Starbucks.  I love when the Christmas cups come out and this year's cups are some of my favourites.

My local Starbucks is fantastic (they know me by name and drink) and I wanted to make them a special Christmas card.  I used this card and personalized it for them.  I copied one of their cups this year so Frosty could start his day with a Starbucks too!

You know when you made a card and it just makes you SO happy?  This is that card for me!  I am super excited to give it to them!

Oh, and if you're thinking that cup is a bit big for Frosty....well, it IS a Venti!  :)

Sweet Sunday Snowdudes - SSSC167

I have totally fallen off the Christmas card wagon - it's been months since I've made one and Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge today (SSSC167) was just the sketch to get me back on track!!

I stamped one of the snowmen from Swanky Snowdudes in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.  The great thing about snowmen is they are so fast to colour!

The paper is MME 12 Days of Christmas with some SU Real Red.  I used a couple of MFT die-namics: the Fishtail Flags Stax and the Icicle Border.  I used some nesties to cut him out and added a layer of Star Dust Stickles to the icicle border.  And of course a snowman needs snow, so I added a bit of glitter as his "snow".

This card came together so quickly that I made 2 more to add to my stash.  I must keep the Christmas card momentum going - it'll be here before you know it!

Sweet Sunday Second Try - SSSC152

I messed up the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC152) yesterday, so decided to give it another try.  This time I had the sketch right in front of me :)

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  I added a bit of Stardust clear to the frothy milk to give it a bit of sparkle.

The image is from the stamp set Hot Concoctions by Paper Smooches and the sentiment is from the Making a List stamp set.  I used SU Early Espresso (how appropriate!) and Baja Breeze and the pattern paper is MME Lost & Found Portobello Road.  I love the pleated Baja Breeze ribbon - it's new from SU - and I layered it on top of the Dizzy Border die.  I'm glad I tried this sketch again and got it right this time:)

Need to Venti?

Anyone who knows me, knows I love my Starbucks and when I saw this card that Jodi made I had to order this stamp set!  It's called Hot Concoctions from Paper Smooches.

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copics.

I used SU kraft and garden green cardstock.  The layout is FTL175 and it's a perfect layout for a quick card.  I am sure to come back to this one again.  I love the sentiment "need to venti?".  In fact, now I'm craving a venti, non-fat, no water, extra hot, tazo chai!!

Sweet Sunday Snowman - SSSC150

While I miss that the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge is now every two weeks instead of every week, I understand it's a time consuming job and I appreciate that Karen is still doing it!  I love her sketches!  I will do my best to do every challenge this year as I'll have two weeks to do it.  This weeks SSSC150 was a great layout for my first Christmas card for 2012.  Trust me when I say, if you start making a few Christmas cards each month when December rolls around you will be SO happy!

I stamped one of the snowmen from Swanky Snowdudes in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.

The cardstock is Real Red and Baja Breeze.  The pattern paper is Cosmo Cricket, Mitten Weather and it certainly was mitten weather here in Ontario with our -25C windchill!  The embossing folder is SU Perfect Polkadots and I used circle nesties to cut him out and the First Place Award Ribbon die for the banner behind him.  His scarf has a little sparkle from the red Atyou Spica pen and I added 4 red sparkly dots to tie it all in.  A little sewing - this time a zig-zag stitch!  This card came together so quickly I decided to make his 'brother'! :)
Ah, now I see I forgot to stamp mouths on my snowmen....hmm, we'll just say they're "quiet" snowmen! :)

Christmas Thank You

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, Hannukah - whatever you celebrated!  From a very young age my sister and I were taught to make and write our thank you cards for our Christmas gifts on Boxing Day - pretty much immediately or we couldn't play with the gifts!  Sounds harsh, but to this day I keep pretty much to that schedule.  I made these on December 27th so was only a day late. :)

I found an adorable card using Swanky Snowdudes and decided it was perfect to CASE for my thank you cards this year.  I inked up the largest snowman from the set with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.

The sentiment is from Snow Day.  I drew the snow line in with a thin black Sharpie, added some glitter and red bakers twine and he's all set.  A super simple and sweet card.

Wishing you a stamp happy 2012!

**PS:  If you're reading the comments on this card, I'd just like to state for the record - I DID give my sister a Christmas present this year!  Could be the biggest gift I've ever given her....if she wins.  I gave her a Heart and Stroke Lottery Calendar!!
