Happy Birthday Darcy

Here's a birthday card I made for a friend at work, using the sweet PI Because You're Special.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured her with copics.  I popped her up onto a scalloped die and added the sentiment on a fishtail flag.

Hope you're having a good day.

Flurry of Love

Today's card features the sweet PI Flurry of Love (MFT).  I have always loved these PI images, they are so sweet and fast to colour up.

The layout is from an old 2015 Stampin' Up catalogue.  I used one of their new silver foil snowflakes behind the image.  The cardbase is stamped with a snowflake background and embossed with silver embossing powder.  I added a couple of sparkly dots to finish it off.

Hope you're having a good day.

Happy Retirement

I was asked to make a retirement card and I adore this little mouse as she is the perfect image for a retirement!

I stamped the image (MFT, Do not disturb this mouse) with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I did a little paper piecing on the chair and footstool and then added some tiny twinkles to the footstool as well.

The sentiment comes with the image and I masked it so I could stamp the Happy on top of the Retirement :)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Another baby!

Another doctor at work had her baby....a little girl.  She didn't want to know what she was having so I couldn't make the card until little Ailysh arrived last week.

I cut out the little onesie using the Baby Onesie die from MFT and stamped the sentiment from the coordinating Baby Onesie stamp set.  I added a little heart in the middle and covered it with Wink of Stella.

I can't wait to meet Ailysh in person!

Pumpkin patch

I made a little "scene" card this weekend.

I have been having fun with my new Distress Oxide inks and wanted to create a background but didn't have the right colours in the oxide inks so got out my regular Distress Inks to create this.  I used Mustard Seed and Fired Brick and then along the edges added some Black Soot.  I flicked some black ink and then sprayed the whole thing with Frost Shimmer Spritz.

I stamped a few of the images that come with the set Pumpkins on the Vine from There She Goes with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured them with copics.  The fence and the grass die is from MFT.  I popped all the images up and them stamped the sentiment from MFT PI Pumpkin Patch Girl.

I still new at all this Distress Ink and smooshing, etc, but am pretty happy with how my little card came out.

Happy Birthday Tori

Just popping in with a card I made for my fav Starbucks!  The staff asked me to make a card for their manager's birthday.

I stamped the image "Miss You a Latte" from MFT with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I embossed the greeting onto a vellum banner and wrapped it around the card.  I realized after I made the card (it was 4.25 x 5.5) that it wasn't going to be big enough for all the staff to sign so I made another one....stop by tomorrow to see that one!

I Toad-ally Miss You

Just popping in with a quick card and a very simple layout seen online.  These Pure Innocence girls colour up so quickly and are just so stinking cute!

stamped the image PI Feeling Froggy with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured her with copics. The fishtail flag paper is MME Lime Twist "Life of the Party" and I added some enamel dots to finish it off.

Happy Mail

I made a couple of cards just for fun last month but forgot to blog them.  I used PI "Happy Mail" - I know how happy I am when I receive happy mail, for no particular reason!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  The paper is MME Unforgettable.  Her shoes are super shiney courtesy of some glossy accents and I added sparkle with my Wink of Stella pen.  I stamped the sentiment on a banner and added a trio of sparkly dots.

I hope this card brings a smile to my friends when they receive it.

Happy Halloween

Today's card uses one of those sweet PI girls that I adore - Pumpkin Patch Girl.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I added some of Bella's Grounds and Grasses around her.  The paper is Lilybeedesign Autumn Spice and I paper pieced her little sweater.  I added some twine with a small button at the top.  The clouds were sponged on.  I hope everyone has a fun Halloween.

Sweet Thanks

I love any of the sweet PI images (MFT) and this cutie was made for a friend who did a huge favour to help me.  The image is called Out on a Limb and she really did go "out on a limb" to help!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I used the Stitched Rectangle die-namic to cut it out.  I can't recall where I saw this layout but had sketched it out to remember to use.  The paper is Fancy Pants Design "Park Bench" with a card base of Baja Breeze.  I added some Wink of Stella to the hearts and some glossy accents to shine her shoes.  There is a trio of matching colour dots but I don't think they show up too well.  The sentiment is from Thanks A Bunch (MFT).

On the inside I added a strip of matching paper from the same collection and left some room to write my  message.

Sweet Treats

This is a card I made for a sweet lady who sent in the most amazing spread of breakfast treats for us at work a few weeks ago.  The most beautiful box arrived filled with homemade scones, little pots of jam, butter, lemon curd and she even put in napkins and knives for us.  It was a gorgeous presentation and delicious treat!

I only stamped the sentiment, which I thought was perfect, from Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU).  The rest of the card is embellishments, card stock and die-namics - the Fancy Butterfly (MFT), the banner and scallop circle from First Place Award Ribbon (MFT) and the lace doily, ribbon and Flower trim is from SU.  I used a kraft note card with Marina Mist card stock.

A sweet thank you for some sweet treats!

Christal's Christmas Card

I realize I had never shown the Christmas card I made for my co-worker Christal.  She is so sweet and looks forward to my card each year.

This year I used the PI Elf Girl and this looks exactly like Christal a few years ago when she dressed up like an elf at the Christmas party!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  The paper is BoBunny "Mistletoe" with a Garden Green card base.  I added a scallop edge border with rhinestone in each scallop for some bling.  I adore my Ghost Snowflakes and use them on very special cards only so Christal got one and I added a button with a bow tied with baker's twine.

Her little booties have a red pearl on each and I added lots of glitter around her - to match her sparkling personality :)

Hanukkah

It's the first day of Hanukkah and I made this card for a few of my friends.  I CASED this card that Melody made a couple of years ago.

I used the Hanukkah Light and Love die-namics (MFT) to cut out the Menorah from some glittery gold paper and glued it on a white Pierced Circle STAX and then added another larger circle cut from some shiny gold paper.  It is super shiny and sparkly!

On the navy card base I stamped the background using Snowfall BG (MFT).  I stamped the sentiment from Happy Hanukkah (MFT) onto some Bella’sBestest paper and then used the Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX die-namics to cut it out.  In keeping with the gold theme I wrapped some gold cord around the edge and added a gold brad.

Sweet thank you

I needed some thank you cards and chose the sweet PI Heart Stripes.  I made 4 of these really quickly once I had the layout.  On the "hand-delivered ones", I added rhinestones that I coloured to match with a copic marker in each of the scallops.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  The patterned paper is from my scrap pile and I paired it with Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip.  I added some matching ribbon and a scallop border.

Jennifer McGuire is doing a wonderful thing on her blog - a  November challenge called "Share Handmade Kindness".  So, this is a start for me to thank the people around me - friends, family, co-workers.  I encourage you to check out Jennifer's blog - she is one amazing woman!

Birthday Fishes

I am super late posting this card I made for my niece's birthday in September.  One of her hobbies is fishing and I'm happy to say the card turned out just like I envisioned it!

Watercolouring is all the rage again so I first made the background using a variety of Distress Inks.  Once it was dry I stamped the sweet PI Gone Fishing image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto the watercoloured background and then stamped another image onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured that one with copics.  I fussy cut it out and popped it up for some dimension.

I stamped a few little fish in the lake and popped one up on end of the fishing rod.  I added a strip of red cardstock stamped with Diagonal Stripes BG and the rest of the card is simple, just a red mat on a white card base.

I really enjoyed getting the watercolours out - it makes such a pretty background.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes

Even though it feels like summer this week, I know Fall has arrived because Starbucks is featuring it's famous Pumpkin Spice Lattes!  Here's the card I made for them - check out those venti size drinks: )

I stamped PI Pumpkin Patch Girl with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured her with copics.  I masked off the pumpkins that are in the wagon and replaced them with two Venti Pumpkin Spice Lattes!  Her sweater is paper pieced.  The paper is MME "Reunion" and SU Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment and then a row of tiny pumpkins on either side of the Pumpkin Spice Latte.

I made them a loaf of Banana bread to go with their card, but think now it should have been a Pumpkin loaf - LOL.

Pumpkin Patch Girl - SSSC286

It's been over a month since I played along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and I don't know why - I love their sketches!  This is SSSC286 but I flipped it to work with my image.

I stamped the image (PI Pumpkin Patch Girl) with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured her with copics.  The paper is Lilybeedesign "Autumn Spice" along with SU Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip.  I paper pieced her sweater and added, perhaps a bit too much, glossy accents to the pumpkins - boy do they shine!

Enjoy your week.

Monster birthday wishes

I saw this sweet card last week on the Your Next Stamp Birthday Blog Hop - made by Jeanie Witmer - and I loved it so much I decided to case it!

I stamped one of the friendly little monsters from October Afternoon "Night Light" using Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.  The paper is BoBunny "Surprise" along with some Tempting Turquoise.  I added two balloons made with the Party Balloon die-namic and tied them to his hand with some bakers twine.  I like that the balloons are super big compared to the little monster - almost like he'll float away with them LOL.  I added a few sequins in matching colours and some fun "googly eyes".

Thanks Jeanie for the inspiration!

Birthday Bear - SSSC281

Today's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC281)  was super easy so I thought I'd get another birthday card made - August is a busy birthday month for me!

I stamped Fred Bear and the Butterfly (discontinued) onto watercolour paper and had a try with my watercolour pencils.  I clearly need more practice :)  Fred was actually holding a daisy but I masked that off and used the Party Balloons die to make two balloons which I tied on with some bakers twine.  The paper is BoBunny "Surprise" with some Pumpkin Pie and dark blue from my scrap bin.

Sympathy - SSSC256

Keeping up with my Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, here is my card using the SSSC256 layout.

I stamped two poppies from LJD Pretty Poppies  onto Bella's Bestest paper with Wild Cherry and Jellybean Green ink.  The sentiment is from CS About Sympathy and I added some sequins to balance it out.
