Gorjuss Girl

I absolutely loved a card that Michele Boyer made recently using one of the MFT stencils.  Click HERE to see her card.  As I bought several of their stencils last month I was itching to try this technique.  This is a new image that I'd forgotten I had - please tell me you do that too :).  I must say I am loving these Gorguss Girls and what a perfect name for them.

I made this card specifically for our volunteer at work.  She's heading back to school and we wanted to thank her for all her hard work.  She has gorgeous, long, black hair and after watching several You Tube videos on colouring black hair, I gave it a try.

I stamped the sentiment on the inside leaving lots of room for everyone to write.

Here are the copics I used.

I had so much fun colouring this girl up, I made two more and I'll show you those tomorrow.

Thank You

I made this card and loved that it came together so quickly!  I used SSSC210 layout again, and there's really no "stamping" on it except the sentiment.  I used another stencil to softly emboss the background - I'm loving this look.

The hardest part was deciding which MFT flower die-namics to use - they are so much fun to make!  I couldn't resist adding some glitter to them with my Wink of Stella pen.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 5

It's Bellariffic Friday and we're on to Sketch #5.

I am still in awe over Emily's fabulous release and made another card with one of the new Uptown Girls, Paisley has a Prezzie....LOVE her!

I stamped Paisley onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  I kept the colours soft and then added a punch of colour with the teal present which, of course, is sparkly thanks to my Wink of Stella pen.  The trio of roses are mini paper roses which matched almost perfectly.  I used a stencil to emboss the white oval and after I had embossed it, I left the stencil on and sprayed it with glimmer mist.  It's a bit hard to see in the photograph but trust me, it is so pretty!

I forgot to take a photo of the inside - oops.  It was the matching sentiment that comes with Paisley stamped in the middle.

Here are the copics I used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is "Bling it up"...so get out your glitter, your rhinestones, your Wink of Stella pen, anything blingy and bling, bling, bling it up!  Why not play along with us?  Ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win $50 in  Bella Bucks.

Sweet Snookums

How stinkin' cute is this brand new image from Stamping Bella?!  Meet "Snookums"...isn't that the most perfect name?  I just wanna squeeze those cheeks!  I used Karen's SSSC210 for the layout.

I stamped Snookums onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.  The beauty of this image is you can make it for a boy or girl!  As this is for a boy I resisted the urge to use any glitter...I won't lie, it was hard :)

Snookums comes with the most beautiful sentiment which I stamped on the inside.

Bellariffic Friday - Inspiration for a Happy Birthday, Stephanie

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had a lovely, bright, sunny photo to inspire us.

I took the colours, the circle shapes and the flowers from the inspiration photo and made a birthday card for my friend Stephanie.  Uptown Girl Lolly seemed perfect for Stephanie as she loves to garden - even a spring shower won't keep her out of the garden!

I stamped Lolly and her Brolly onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  I masked off the little snail and then stamped him closer to her.   I paper pieced her raincoat and boots and tried my hand at some shading around the image like TammieBella rocked in her card here.  I added a sentiment banner and a trio of rhinestones for a splash of colour.

On the inside I stamped off part of the image so it was lighter and stamped it in the corner, adding a scallop border of the matching paper along one edge.

Here are the copics I used.

And we have a new Babe in the house!  Steph is joining our team today and we're so excited.  Check out her blog, Honey Bootique (cute name!) and give her a big Bella welcome!  And while you're on her blog.....drooooool over her stamp room.....it's a dream!

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Sketch #5.

Snowboarding

Special request cards are my favourite to make.  This was for a "boy" birthday card and I was happy to be able to use the Snowboard Boy on his card.

I kept the card pretty simple as boys don't like a lot of ribbon and glitter - LOL.  The sketch is very loosely based on SSSC202.  I added the lift ticket and "attached" it to his jacket.  I noticed that "Burton" was huge at the Olympics, so wrote that on his snowboard.

On the inside I added a strip of pattern paper and lightly stamped off the image again before adding the sentiment.

Here are the copics I used.

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 4

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we have another fantastic sketch for you.

Those who know me well, know I love my Starbucks and I wanted to make my favourite store another card to thank them for always starting my day in the very best way!

For my card I flipped the sketch upside down and "tweaked" the image just a bit.  I stamped Uptown Girl Catherine Nibbling Chocolate onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  Now you may notice that her box of chocolates is missing and has been replaced with a Starbucks cup :) and she is nibbling on one of their delicious brownies...mmm.  I added some glitter to her dress with my Wink of Stella pen.

I added a Dizzy Border die-namic on the inside with the teeny tiny bit of ribbon that was left - I wanted to make a bow but there just wasn't enough.

Here are the copics I used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is an Inspiration photo.

Florida sunshine

A few weeks ago I was down in Florida with my Mum and as I do on every trip to Florida now....a day was spent driving to one of my favourites places.  Not Disney World but the My Favorite Things store in Eustis, Florida!!  This trip we took a friend with us and I'm not sure Vicki, or even my Mum, fully understood my love and excitement of going to the MFT store, but they were both good sports in letting me shop and look and ooh and aah over everything.  Vicki and her parents are often our chauffeurs to and from Tampa airport when we visit and I wanted to make them a special thank you card.  I used Karen's SSSC208 from this week.

This sweet little PI seemed to fit perfectly with the glorious, sunny, warm weather we had.  I had a lot of fun paper piecing her shorts and t-shirt.  It was a lot of layering but I love the finished look.  I added some Tiny Twinkles to her hair barrette and her purse and of course her little sandals shimmer from my Wink of Stella pen.

I used my fav Fishtail Flags again on the inside.

We always have a lot of laughs and I am very appreciative of their transportation services while I'm there.  Although the drive to the MFT store was only about an hour and a half for us, we managed to get lost - or as I like to say, we just took the long way - LOL.  However long it takes to get there it is SO worth it - the store is a dream!  I know you can order online but there's nothing like seeing it all in real life!

Here are the copics I used.

Bellariffic Friday - Washi or Ribbon

It's Bellariffic Friday and today's challenge was to use "Washi or Ribbon".  I love ribbon but I surprised myself by only using a teeny bit on this card to make two little tabs :)

I stamped the super-hip Senior-ita Dolores onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  I added crystal effects to her goggles and used my Wink of Stella pen to make her scooter sparkle!

On the inside I stamped the sentiment that comes with the image and offset it so I have lots of room to write.

Here are the copics I used.

Thanks for dinner!

While on holiday with my Mum a few weeks ago, we were invited to dinner at one of her friends.  Now this was no ordinary dinner...the hostess was a Home Economics teacher so I knew it would be yummy....and it was!  I loved that she wore an apron and I had fun paper piecing the apron on this little cutie as their thank you card.

I started with MFTWSC162 in mind but it went in a bit of a different direction :) .  I was lucky enough to visit the MFT store (swoon!!) while down in Florida and picked up a "few" things - LOL!  The MPD Petal Circles Stencil was one of 5 different ones I picked up!  I love that you can emboss with it for a subtle look, along with it's regular mixed media uses.

Here are the copics I used.
