Fay Loves Fall

I had some time to play over this past long weekend and inked up one of my FAV new images, Tiny Townie Fay Loves Fall.  Last week and continuing into this week we have humidex readings in the high 30's so it certainly doesn't feel like fall!

I stamped Fay with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured the image with copics.  I've said it before but the best way for me to learn where shadows should be and shading of an image is to copy Elaine's colouring on the colourmap that you can download with your purchase.  The paper is Lilybeedesign "Autumn Spice" and I sponged some clouds in the sky using Tumbled Glass Distress ink and a cloud stencil.  I stamped part of the sentiment that comes with Fay on the front of the card and added some Crystal Effects to the apples to make them shine.

Even though it's stinking hot today, I know fall is just around the corner because Starbucks is advertising it's Pumpkin Spice lattes and that's a SURE sign of Fall!

Happy Birthday Tom

I find it hard to make masculine birthday cards, especially for teenagers, but I'm happy with how this one turned out...not a speck of glitter anywhere! LOL

I stamped Milton with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella's Bestest paper and coloured him with copics.  When I first colour an image I like to refer to the package for colours and where to shade - I find this really helpful.  The paper is MME Six by Six "Hootenanny" with a strip of Peach Parfait on a kraft card base.  I added some crystal effects to Milton's balloon for some super shine!

Milton comes with a sentiment "happy happy happy birthday!" but I forgot to take a picture of the inside.  I kept this pretty flat for mailing to England - I hope the balloon doesn't crack :)

Bellariffic Friday - Create your own background

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week the challenge was to create your own background.  I decided to get "messy" with some embossing paste and reinkers to create mine.  It's the first Friday of the month too, so that means another image on sale for the entire month at 20% off. This month we are featuring Sofia the Sicky.  You'll notice my Sofia has a cast on her right foot - I made this card for my Mum who is recovering from a broken ankle!  Poor Mama!

I stamped the image onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  To create my background I used a couple of drops of Bashful Blue reinker and mixed it with some embossing paste.  Then I spread it over the Large Polka Dots Stencil and let it dry completely.  Although it's hard to see the texture in the photo, I love how it turned out!

The paper is Bashful Blue and I stamped the sentiment that comes with the image along a strip at the bottom.  My Mum's favourite colour is blue so this will cheer her up for sure :)

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Sketch #18.

We hope you'll get stamping with us. It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 17

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we are using Sketch 17.

I have had this image for ages and never inked it up - how does that happen?! :)

I stamped Uptown Girl Abigail the Artist with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  The paper is MME Six by Six "Playdate" along with some Real Red for the cardbase.  I wrapped some bakers twine around the sentiment flag and masked the sentiment so I could have the first bit on the front and the rest of the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella

Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Create your own background.  So grab those stencils, embossing folders, whatever you'd like to create your own background and play along with us.  Next week is also the first of the month so that means a special stamp that all the Babes will be using and it will be on sale 20% off for the whole month of September.

We hope you'll get stamping with us. It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Bellariffic Friday - Colour Inspiration photo

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had a gorgeous inspiration photo for our Colour challenge.

The flowers in this picture are gorgeous, but we were to use the colours and I think I managed to use all of them!

I stamped Tiny Townie Hayley the Hero with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her copics. The paper is Doodlebug "Sunkissed" paired with some SU Pink Passion and Pumpkin Pie.  I used the lacy circle nestie and added some enamel dots for a pop of colour. Hayley's goggles have some glossy accents on.  The sentiment is a fun one - retired from SU - that I just can't bear to part with.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.

Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Sketch 17.

Monster birthday wishes

I saw this sweet card last week on the Your Next Stamp Birthday Blog Hop - made by Jeanie Witmer - and I loved it so much I decided to case it!

I stamped one of the friendly little monsters from October Afternoon "Night Light" using Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.  The paper is BoBunny "Surprise" along with some Tempting Turquoise.  I added two balloons made with the Party Balloon die-namic and tied them to his hand with some bakers twine.  I like that the balloons are super big compared to the little monster - almost like he'll float away with them LOL.  I added a few sequins in matching colours and some fun "googly eyes".

Thanks Jeanie for the inspiration!

TEASER ALERT - Caroling Chicks

We're almost there - the end of the teasers and I have to say I am LOVING this release!!  I know I said that last time but Emily always comes up with the BEST images!  Today I'm introducing "Caroling Chicks" and I loved this image so much I made two cards!  Look at that last chick - so angry and covering his ears - so Grinch-like LOL!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  The paper is Bell Blvd Christmas Wishes with a Cherry Cobbler card base.  I added a small Fishtail Flag with a button and bow made with some Bakers twine.  The sketch is SSSC272.  On the inside I stamped the sentiment that comes with the image - love when they have sentiments with them!

For my second Caroling Chicks card I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  This time I coloured them in a light brown colour with red accessories and I left off the grumpy bird on the end - LOL.

The paper is SU Fresh Prints DSP with a Coastal Cabana card base.  I used my Martha Stewart snowflake punch with another enamel dot in the middle and coloured the snowflake with my Wink of Stella pen.  As these are both Christmas cards, there had to be lots of glitter so I used some chunky for the snow and some fine for the falling flakes and the one hat.  The sketch for this was SSSC91 and the inside pretty much matches the first card.

Be sure to check out Blogabella for more teasers and your chance to WIN these new images!!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 16

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we are up to Sketch #16.

I added another Christmas card to my stash using the sweet Eskimo Kisses.  I love their little noses kissing.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  The paper is Echo Park Wintertime.  I used a couple of circle nesties and of course my fav Fishtail Flags dies.  I tried some white liquid applique on their hoods, adding glitter to the girl's hood. The snow is made with chunky glitter.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is a Colour Inspiration photo.  So use any or all of the colours as your inspiration.

We hope you'll get stamping with us. It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

TEASER ALERT - Tiny Townie Fay Loves Fall

It's time for another teaser and this Tiny Townie is definitely on my wish list!  Meet Tiny Townie "Fay Loves Fall"!

OMGosh, I love her!  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  The paper is Lilybeedesign "Autumn Spice" and I added some Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist.  The Fishtail Flag is from a scrap of More Mustard.  I added some glossy accents to the apples and boy do they shine in real life.

Fay Loves Fall comes with a perfect sentiment.

This is the SSSC280 layout.  Be sure to check out the rest of the teasers on Blogabella and your chance to WIN this image!!
