Valerie and her Snowman are back

I am a huge fan of Jennifer McGuire's work and after seeing this video she posted about "Stamping with water" I had to give it a try.  I still had the image of Valerie out and thought a snowy sky would be perfect behind her.

First I made the background using a few different distress inks and then the Snowfall BG spritzed with water to "stamp" the snowfall background.  I love how it turned out - it looks like big fluffy snowflakes falling.  I encourage you to check out the link to her video above and give it a try.

I stamped Valerie with Snowman with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I then fussy cut around it and added some snow banks made with Snow Drifts die-namics on top with the mandatory :) glitter on them.
The cardbase is Real Red and I didn't even have to use water colour paper - I just used Bella's Bestest paper - and it worked fine.

Don't forget Valerie is on sale at 20% off all month!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 22

It's the first Friday of the month too, so that means Emily has chosen an image that will be on sale at 20% off ALL month!  This month the featured stamp is Valerie with Snowman.

I stamped Valerie with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured her and her snowman with copics.  The cardbase is Baja Breeze and the pattern paper is MME Be Merry.  I added a button with a twine bow behind and of course glitter on the snow and the snowman.

Bellariffic Friday - Uptown Girl or Tiny Townie

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week the challenge was to use any Uptown Girl or Tiny Townie image.  I made this as a wedding shower card for a sweet friend.  I know, it's not your typical image for a wedding shower but the theme of the shower was "An Afternoon in Paris Tea" and I love how the card turned out!

I stamped Uptown Girl Audrey Loves Makeup with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella's Bestest paper and coloured it with copics.  The paper was perfect!  It's from MME Lost and Found Madison Avenue.  I paper pieced her dress and popped her up with some swirly rhinestones behind her.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Sketch #22. It's also the first Friday of the month so all the Babes will be using the same image that will be on sale for 20% off!

We hope you'll get stamping with us. It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 21

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had Sketch #21 to work with.

I was asked to make a special birthday card and I LOVE making custom cards specially designed around the recipient.

I stamped Uptown Girl Paisley has a Prezzie with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella's Bestest paper and coloured her with copics.  The paper is MME Miss Caroline "Howdy Doody" with some Baja Breeze as the base.  I used one of the Mini Delicate Doilies die-namics in the corner that I covered with my Wink of Stella pen for some glittery shine.  I added an enamel dot in the middle of the doily and a scattering of glitter around Paisley.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is to use any Uptown Girl or Tiny Townie image - now how to decide which to use?!

We hope you'll get stamping with us. It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Bellariffic Friday - Inspiration Photo

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had a lovely photo for our inspiration.

I used the colours from the picture and decided to try another watercolored card.

I stamped Scout's Honor with Black Hybrid ink onto some watercolour paper and coloured it using an aqua painter and some SU ink pads.  I cut out the image using a stitched rectangle die and added a little "Hello" tab and a trio of rhinestones in the bottom corner.  His glasses have a thick layer of glossy accents.

The card base is Real Red along with some pattern paper from Echo Park "A Boy's Life".

On the inside I stamped the image again in a light Grout Gray ink and added the sweet sentiment that comes with the image.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Sketch #21.

We hope you'll get stamping with us. It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

I stamped the dog with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.

The paper is Echo Park "A Walk in the Park" along with some SU Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss.  I added some ribbon in matching colours across the front.

Hope you're having a good week.

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 20

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we are up to Sketch #20.

I made this for one of the nurses at work who is retiring after 35 years!  She's a gem and will be missed!  My boss and I gave her a gift certificate to a spa and so Pampered was the perfect image to use for her card.  Look at those little toes with the cotton balls between them - super cute!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella's Bestest paper and coloured it with copics.  The solids cardstock is SU Daffodil Delight and Baja Breeze and the pattern paper is MME "Happy Day", also perfect for her....she's retiring - LOL.  I embossed the circle with Swiss Dots embossing folder and added some sequins to finish it off.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.

Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is a gorgeous Colour Inspiration photo.  Use any or all of the colours as your inspiration.

We hope you'll get stamping with us. It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Birthday Fishes

I am super late posting this card I made for my niece's birthday in September.  One of her hobbies is fishing and I'm happy to say the card turned out just like I envisioned it!

Watercolouring is all the rage again so I first made the background using a variety of Distress Inks.  Once it was dry I stamped the sweet PI Gone Fishing image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto the watercoloured background and then stamped another image onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured that one with copics.  I fussy cut it out and popped it up for some dimension.

I stamped a few little fish in the lake and popped one up on end of the fishing rod.  I added a strip of red cardstock stamped with Diagonal Stripes BG and the rest of the card is simple, just a red mat on a white card base.

I really enjoyed getting the watercolours out - it makes such a pretty background.
