It's wedding season and I recently had a friend ask me to make her five wedding cards. Lucky for me they could all be the same design, just different colours! I pulled out Fifth Avenue Floral from SU - I absolutely love this set and it's one of the few I kept when I 'retired' from SU :)
The layout is cased from a card on SCS - you can see "houstonarmywife's" beautiful card here. I changed it a bit and made up 5 in various shades of pink and purple. I embossed the rose with white embossing powder (gosh, haven't pulled that out in a while) and coloured it with my aqua painter and reinkers. The embossing folder is Textile Texture and I added 3 leaves from MFT Royal Leaves Die-namic behind the rose which I popped up. I used part of a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental about Anniversaries, some white ribbon and added 3 little pearls. I really like all the texture on this card - from the embossing folder to the leaves to the raised rose and I finished it off with a light spray of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Marshmallow.
Happy Wedding Day to all five brides!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 15
I've missed the last couple of Fridays playing along with Bellariffic Friday but was able to play along this week. It's another sketch - can you believe we're already at #15? A few weeks ago I treated myself and took a little drive to Bellaland aka the Stamping Bella store. As it always the case I bought loads more than what I intended to - but that's the fun of visiting the store! Emily has loads of lovely things and I picked up this little cutie in the sale bin. (This stamp is discontinued.)
I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics. I wasn't going to paper piece her dress but they are so easy to do and it's like playing dress up. The pattern paper is from an old TE Key Ingredients kit. I added a scallop border with some tiny rhinestones to match the ones on her dress. Her purse has several coats of clear glaze pen and I added some sparkle to the flowers on her dress with my Atyou Spica pen.
I'm guessing this little cutie is off to Stamping Bella for some more goodies!

Anchors away - MFTWSC80
I had so much fun making this card - I think it was the cute patterns on the paper not to mention the oh-so-cute ALM You Anchor Me girl! This time I stayed true to the sketch exactly as it was - MFTWSC80.
The image is stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics. I paper pieced her anchor with more of the fun paper from Echo Park Splash. The card base is Berrylicious. I used the "Ahoy" bit which is part of a sentiment from Claire Keay Ahoy Matey on a little Mini Wavy Pennants die-namic. I love that MFT sentiments are so interchangeable! The MFT die-namic Catch a Wave was perfect for some felt waves to splash in...she's actually got one foot still in the water :)
I used First Place Award Ribbon and Fishtail Flags MFT die-namics to make some little flags on the inside of the card. I love doing the inside of the cards now!

Batter up!
Nothing says summer like baseball and this little guy could possibly be a Toronto Blue Jay in training! The sketch is Jen's Sketch For You To Try for July - I haven't used one of hers in ages so was long overdue.
I stamped MFT PI Baseball Boy in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics. The pattern paper is Echo Park Little Boy Collection and I used some SU Pumpkin Pie for the base. I had fun using lots of MFT die-namics: the Circle Stax 1 & 2, the Fishtail Flags (which I can't get enough of right now!), the Stacking Stars and the Star Stax. All Star Stamp and die-namic was perfect for the baseball - it looks like he's ready to hit a home run!
I did the inside of my card too - stamping the little PI boy again and adding a Jumbo Squiggle border. Play ball!

Bellariffic Friday - Cupcake Flynn
Wow - what a cooker of a week! I was in Cincinnati visiting my friend Karen and one day it was 99F - feeling like 115F! Thank goodness we spent most of the time in her coooool stamp room. This week's challenge for Bellariffic Friday was embossing of any kind so I went with embossing folders as most of my embossing powders are long gone! I used the deconstructed sketch 48.
I stamped Flynn needs a Cupcake in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics. I like that this image comes with the cute sentiment. SU Rich Razzleberry is the card base and the pattern paper is appropriately called Little Girl from Echo Park. My embossing folder is swiss dots and I used some MFT die-namics: Fishtail Flags, Oval Tab and Small Scallop border. I cut Flynn out, popped her up and added several coats of clear glaze pen to her shoes. I love how her hair turned out and that sparkly hairband seems to finish her off.

Happy 4th of July - MFTWSC79
Happy 4th of July to my American friends! I'm right on schedule with this week's MFTWSC79 and used the perfect image for today, the a-la-mode Firecracker! I did flip the sketch a bit though.
I stamp her in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics. Like the Pure Innocence girls, the a-la-modes are great for paper piecing and I made her a cute little sundress. The paper is October Afternoon Boarding Pass with some SU Real Red and Night of Navy. I used part of a sentiment from PI Lady Liberty stamping it on the First Place Award Ribbon die-namic. The Stacking Stars die-namic made two perfect stars, one for the top sentiment banner and I tried the faux epoxy sticker technique - I covered the star with stickles and after it dried I added crystal effects. I added a bit of red ribbon and bow, placing the largest Stacking Star behind it. The inside has a strip of the pattern paper using the Chevron stripes die-namic.
Last night was the first of two nights of fireworks for me and I LOVE fireworks! Here's a little photo Karen took of me eagerly awaiting the fireworks to start and one of the big ones!
So, Happy 4th of July and Happy 1st to me - I edited this card and added my watermark all by myself after a wonderful lesson from Karen - thanks Karen!

Sweet Sunday Birthday Wishes - SSS162
It's a sweet Sunday indeed - it's Canada Day, I'm visiting my sweet friend Karen and I finally made Karen's birthday card! I told her it would be hand delivered which brought me some time :)
I used this weeks SSSC162 and a ton of fun things in her stamp room - I'll tell you my shopping list is growing by the day!!
I stamped the sweet PI girl from Out on a Limb in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics. The paper is MME Lime Twist Life of the Party with some SU Kiwi Kiss for the base. I followed the sketch exactly, using a mix of MFT dies for the flowers: Perfect Petal Trio, Prima Donna Petals and Button Quartet with a couple of Leafy Flourish. The MFT Small Scallop Border is in SU Chocolate Chip and I used some of my beautiful pleated ribbon in SU Baja Breeze - LOVE this ribbon! A tiny twinkle on her shoe and some rhinestones on the flowers finished it off.
Now Karen is a great one for saying "just try it". So I did exactly that - I tried sewing zig-zag on a circle!! It was very slow and I clearly made some errors but I just need to try it more! I also did the inside of my card with a piece of leftover pattern paper.
I loved making it and Karen loved receiving it! Happy belated-but-hand-delivered Birthday my friend!!
