Need to Venti?

Anyone who knows me, knows I love my Starbucks and when I saw this card that Jodi made I had to order this stamp set!  It's called Hot Concoctions from Paper Smooches.

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copics.

I used SU kraft and garden green cardstock.  The layout is FTL175 and it's a perfect layout for a quick card.  I am sure to come back to this one again.  I love the sentiment "need to venti?".  In fact, now I'm craving a venti, non-fat, no water, extra hot, tazo chai!!

Sweet Sunday Frosty - SSSC151

In keeping with my last Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge card, I'm continuing the snowman theme and another Christmas card for 2012!  This time I used Frosty from Stamping Bella for my SSSC151.

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.

The paper is SU Ballet Blue and the pattern paper is Bo Bunny Snowfall Collection and I love this package - lots of lovely snowflake designs!  I used three black tiny twinkles for his buttons and the red Atyou Spica pen on the ornaments.  The sentiment was stamped on the smaller banner from the First Place Award Ribbon die.  The trio of snowflakes was done using the Let It Snowflake die and I added a donut with a dot in the middle.  I added a bit of liquid applique on his hat trim and of course, some glitter!

I was so pleased with my card, I made another one exactly the same!

Happy Birthday Loz!

We have a new doctor who started with us in January - she's here for a year doing extra specialty training.  Wednesday was her birthday and as her family and friends are across the world, I wanted her to feel part of our team and welcome.  My PI Girl Doctor was the perfect image, but she's MIA at the moment - probably in the OR! :)  I know she's somewhere in my stamp room - does that ever happen to you?  Do you lose a stamp completely?  Anyhow, I wanted to use a PI so chose the sweet Out on a Limb instead.

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

I used Jen's January Sketch For You To Try and am squeaking this in before the end of January!  The pattern paper is Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe and SU wild wasabi.  The scallop circle nestie is embossed with the SU Perfect Polkadots embossing folder.  I added a tiny twinkle to her shoe and of course some red stickles on her little heart hair barrette.  The double scallop border added a dainty touch under the yellow ribbon.  I found the perfect embellishment - a "Doctor" bag charm!  I couldn't decide how to attach the bag and now wish I had tucked it under her hand a bit.

Here's hoping Loz had a lovely birthday.

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 2 - Happy Birthday Eliot!

It's Eliot's birthday this week - he's one of my sweet cousins in England and any card that I make bound for overseas has to be as bulk free as possible!  Today's Bellariffic Friday is a sketch (sketch #2) and if my card looks slightly off, it's because I rotated the sketch twice (Danabella often does this too)...and left off the two photo corner thing-a-ma-jigs :)

I stamped Spencer the Bookworm in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.

The bright, fun paper is from and old TE Key Ingredients Kit "Beach Bum".  Eliot has gorgeous blond hair so I tried to copy that on Spencer.  I put a few coats of clear glaze pen on his glasses and replaced the bow from the sketch to a flat metal "Birthday" tag finished off with two bonbons.

Here's hoping his card arrived on time - Happy Birthday Eliot!

Let's Celebrate - MFTWSC56

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 56.  Today's card is a special order birthday card and the Cheers a la mode was a perfect fit for this sketch.

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.

The pattern paper is MME Lost and Found Union Square.  I'm still loving the Tied Together embossing folder and not just because it's bigger at 5 x 7!  I paper pieced her dress, added some tiny twinkles around the scallop circle nestie and sponged around the edges to soften the white a bit.  The sentiment is included with the image and is stamped on the small banner of the First Place Award Ribbon die.  To make her glass of champagne pop, I added several layers of clear glaze pen.

Here's hoping the Birthday girl enjoys her day (and her card)!

Bellariffic Friday - Uptown girls

This week's theme for Bellariffic Friday was "Ink up your favourite image".  Now I don't know about you but I cannot pick a favourite image - there are too many!  So, I picked a couple of my favourite girls...the uptown girls Victoria and Juliette's Night Out.

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it with copics.

The paper is SU Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze - one of my most fav colour combos.  I paper pieced the dresses and added some fine black glitter to the trim of one.  The embossing folder is a new one called Tied Together by Couture Creations.  I used the Crown Border die and added some rhinestones to each scallop.  Their shoes have a coat of black glaze pen - oh how I wish I had a pair of shoes like that!  I gave their drinks several coats of clear glaze pen - I'm thinking one is a lovely Merlot and the other a cosmopolitan!  Enjoy girls!

Sweet Sunday Snowman - SSSC150

While I miss that the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge is now every two weeks instead of every week, I understand it's a time consuming job and I appreciate that Karen is still doing it!  I love her sketches!  I will do my best to do every challenge this year as I'll have two weeks to do it.  This weeks SSSC150 was a great layout for my first Christmas card for 2012.  Trust me when I say, if you start making a few Christmas cards each month when December rolls around you will be SO happy!

I stamped one of the snowmen from Swanky Snowdudes in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.

The cardstock is Real Red and Baja Breeze.  The pattern paper is Cosmo Cricket, Mitten Weather and it certainly was mitten weather here in Ontario with our -25C windchill!  The embossing folder is SU Perfect Polkadots and I used circle nesties to cut him out and the First Place Award Ribbon die for the banner behind him.  His scarf has a little sparkle from the red Atyou Spica pen and I added 4 red sparkly dots to tie it all in.  A little sewing - this time a zig-zag stitch!  This card came together so quickly I decided to make his 'brother'! :)
Ah, now I see I forgot to stamp mouths on my snowmen....hmm, we'll just say they're "quiet" snowmen! :)

Jasmine's sisters

Yesterday's card was fun to make and colour, so I decided to make two more while I had all the supplies out.  I used the same papers and pretty much the same copics.  I used Prima Donna Petals die and red satin ribbon on the black haired girl and on the brown haired girl I used the Rolled Rose die and made the flower out of felt.

I hope you enjoyed these sweet girls - I wonder if they're triplets?! :)

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 1 - Jasmine

It's a brand new year of Stamping Bella Bellariffic Fridays!  I'm so happy to hear that half the year will be sketches - I love sketches.  Here's today's sketch.

When I was flipping through my SB images, I can't believe I hadn't inked up Jasmine so in keeping with my new year's resolution...here we go!

The image is stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics.

The pattern paper is Cosmo Cricket Material Girl and it was perfect to paper piece her little sundress.  I used a red Atyou Spica pen to add a little sparkle and several coats of clear glaze pen on the flower.  I ran out of room for the sentiment but that's the beauty of a sketch - it's open to interpretation and space :)  I hope my "anonymous sister" is impressed with the sewing on this card...not just one layer but three layers of sewing!

I had so much fun making this card, I made two more which I'll show you tomorrow!

Snow Buddies - MFTWSC53

It's time to get sketchy with MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 53.  It's my first MFTWSC for 2012 and I love my card - I know, I know, I probably shouldn't say that but I can't help it - bears and snowmen make me happy!

I stamped Fred Bear - Snow Bear in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.

The pattern paper is Echo Park Winter Park and I love this paper - wish I'd ordered 2 pads now!  The cardstock is SU Not Quite Navy.  I used SU Snow Burst embossing folder on the 2nd circle and First Place Award Ribbon die for the sentiment with a bonbon at the edge.  The snowflakes have a tiny bit of white liquid applique which I covered with some glitter and let sit for a while before heat setting it.  A bit of sewing just around the edge of the card finished it off.

Hey, just realized this could be Christmas Card #1 for 2012....but it also could be my last one for 2011!  I'll never tell :)

Sweet Sunday Starbucks - SSSC149

Happy New Year!  It's a brand new year of stamping and I resolve to sew more and USE my stamping supplies!  I'm sure I'm not alone in stamping supply hoarding :)

This week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC149) was a great layout and one I'm sure to use again.  I needed a birthday card for a fellow Starbucks lover and Miss You a Latte was the perfect image!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with copics.

I went a bit crazy on the sewing but practice makes perfect, right?  The pattern paper is MME Darling Dear and the cardstock is SU Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze and Kraft.  I used the Lacey Circles nestie and the swiss dots embossing folder on the Baja Breeze circle.  I popped her up for a little dimension and used the Rolled Rose die to make a felt flower.  I even decorated the inside of the card too - but forgot to take a photo.

So, on my first card for 2012 I have sewing - check, used new pattern paper - check, used my felt stash to make a flower - check and used my new Baja Breeze seam binding - check!  No hoarding for this card - I'm off to a good start! :)
