Bellariffic Friday - Yellow, Blue, Black

Today's Bellariffic Friday is a colour challenge and I was SO happy with the colours (yellow, blue and black) because I could use my new Lilybeedesign Buttercup papers which were perfect!

I stamped Jump for Joy in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copics.

There wasn't much to colour as I paper pieced their dresses - yes, I know, it's like I'm a little girl again playing with paper dolls!  I added a Monarch border in black cardstock with some gorgeous SU pleated ribbon over top and a few rhinestones to bling it up.  Some sewing around the edge and a bit of Atyou Spica pen on their dresses and these girls are ready to celebrate!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 10

It's Bellariffic Friday and the start of a long weekend - doesn't get any better than that!  This week was another fab sketch from Ebru.  I'm quite behind in my Christmas card making and this was a great sketch for Cupcake With A Holly On Top...so great that while I had all the paper and supplies out, I made two!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black and coloured it with copics.

The paper is Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather with some red cardstock for the mat.  I punched out the sentiment with an oval punch and added a scallop oval behind it.  I followed the sketch exactly this time :) adding some zigzag stitching around the image and some red ribbon behind it.  Crystal effects made those balls shine and I added a bit of atyou spica pen to the base for a bit of sparkle - although that might be hard to see.  I'm happy with the way this turned and and even happier that I have two more cards to add to my Christmas card box!

Butterfly Thanks

I needed some quick thank you cards and I found an old Stampin' Up catalogue with a sample similar to this card.  It was a simple and clean layout so I just changed the colours!

I stamped the butterfly from the Strength & Hope set in Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery and Marina Mist and added a tiny rhinestone to each one.  The Certainly Celery grosgrain is a perfect match and the sentiment is from MFT Fresh from the Oven.  These were fast to make and, I think, so pretty.

Bellariffic Friday - Sewing

It's "sew" good to able to play again with Bellariffic Fridays!  Sorry, I couldn't resist :)

For this week's card the theme was sewing and I'm becoming more confident with my sewing.  I wanted to zig zag around the circle but, as always seems to be the case, by the time I have my image coloured I'm too afraid to sew in case it goes horribly wrong.  I really must just practice on some circles!

I stamped Luna (the moth) Huggabugg in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

The paper is from BasicGrey Sweet Threads pad and I paired it with some SU Pretty in Pink and Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  I used the Divine Swirls embossing folder for the pink layer and added a little pink flower as the accent.  Some glitter to give her wings sparkle and a bit of Atyou Spica pen on the crescent moon, although it's hard to see in the photo.  The sketch is actually SSSC158 - I still had it out on my desk from this card and so decided to use it again!

Have a good weekend.

My Favorite Things - Road Trip

Last month I flew to Florida to visit my Mum.  On a whim, I checked the map and it turned out I wasthisclose to the MFT store!  I couldn't pass up the opportunity, so told Mum we were taking a road trip.  And what a road trip it was - no GPS just a MAP :) and my Mum navigating!  We set off and 1.5 hours later we pulled up and I was almost beside myself with excitement.  I kept telling my Mum that Kim was going to be there and I was so excited - I'd get to meet her in person and I was so excited - I was going to see the store in all it's beauty and I was so excited - and I'd get to shop, shop, shop and I was so excited - do you get my drift?  I'm not sure Mum got my excitement level but I'm sure you all do - it was a day to remember!  The store was everything I thought it would be and more.  Kim was so sweet and welcoming and I hope I didn't overwhelm her with my excitement.

Her hubby, Martin, took this photo and man does he know his MFT stuff!  I was just wandering the store in a MFT daze when a lady walked in wondering what these stamps were, how did it work, etc., and he was amazing explaining it all to her.  It was all I could do to not go over to the lady and profess my love of MFT and tell her to buy one of everything!  I left there a VERY happy stamper with loads of goodies that I am slowly working my way through.  It was a wonderful day and a road trip to remember.  I love this next photo - me and My Favorite Things!

Happy Birthday Cousin Helen!

Today is Cousin Helen's birthday and I needed a card that was relatively flat to mail and not too "fussy, frilly or cute".  Helen is a Stampin' Up demonstrator in England and one of the top 20 demonstrators there!  Her blog is full of lovely cards and ideas and even a special "Caturday" post every Saturday - check it out.  I knew I had to use a SU image on her card and I think I remember Fifth Avenue Floral was one of her favourites.

The layout is CPS 264 - this is the first time I've done one of their sketches and I really must do more.  I stamped the flower in SU Marina Mist and the cardstock is also SU Marina Mist with some Early Espresso.  The designer paper from MME Lost & Found pad.  I used my new By The Letters die-namic for the letters and loved the way Karen overlapped hers on this card so I did the same!

I'd love to post a photo of Cousin Helen and me from my recent trip there, but we didn't take one, so instead I'll post a photo of something else I love about England - the countryside - and no, I didn't climb to the top of this! :)

Happy Birthday Helen!

Sweet Sunday Flowers - SSSC158

My card for this week's SSSC158 is for my friend Denise - she loves MFT Pure Innocence girls and I knew this would brighten her day.  I did rotate the sketch though :)

I stamped Because You're Special in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  I paper pieced her dress and matching sweater.

I still had my LilybeeDesign HandMade paper pad from this card out so used a few more sheets - they're bright and cheery.  The other cardstock is SU Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Real Red.  I used my new MFT Royal Rose die (love this!) and some MFT Wild Cherry felt to make the pretty flower, looping some cotton hemp behind in a double bow.  I shined up her shoes with several coats of clear glaze pen and added some tiny twinkles for some extra bling.

ZZZZZZZZZZ - MFTWSC70

You'd think by this title and the lack of blog posts that this is what I've been doing for the past few weeks :)  Nope, I've been traveling - a new destination (blog post to come about that!) and an old one.....England!  I'm over my jet lag and anxious to get back to my stamping and this week's MFTWSC70 was a great place to start.

This cute little mouse was a perfect image as that's pretty much what I've been doing since I got home!  I stamped Do Not Disturb This Mouse in Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored her with copics.

The sketch is tweaked a bit - I flipped it and used the mirror image of it.  I had so much fun paper piecing the chair and footstool with my new LilybeeDesign HandMade paper.  I even added some tiny twinkles to the footstool for that authentic upholstered look :)  The sentiment fit perfectly on the First Place Award Ribbon die-namic and I added a button tied with a thread bow instead of the flower that was on the sketch.

This card is going to my dear, sweet Auntie Shirley who I'm sure was wanting to do exactly like this little mouse after we left.....rest!  I'm sure she was all tuckered out when we left!
