Giddy Up!

I attended a Stampin' Up class yesterday and it was so much fun to be together with my friends again.  I love to stamp on my own but I love stamping with my friends even more!  It got me in the Stampin' Up mood and I came home and made two little cowboy cards.

The second card is similar but I masked off his little horse and added some hemp cord as a lasso for him.

The copics were used for both cards and I used the Atyou Spica gold pen to shine up his badge.

Wow, this is the third "boy" theme post in a row!  Time to get out some pretty girly paper and images :)

Bellariffic Friday - For The Boys

This week's Bellariffic Friday theme is "For The Boys" and I immediately thought of the movie with the same name, starring Bette Midler and James Caan - what a great movie!

I think Spencer is cramming in his last bit of fun reading before March Break is over and it's back to the school books!  The  pattern paper is aptly called "A Boy's Life".

I love his glasses - they remind me of mine when I was little.  The candy dots were not quite the right colour so I coloured them with my B06 copic and they are almost a perfect match now.

Boys Rock

I needed a few boy cards and these Lollipops images are super quick to colour up.  I used my “go to” layout with a ½ circle for the sentiment.  I wasn't happy with the stamping of the sentiment and tried it several times, finally giving up to "operator error" :)

See?  Not so bold and kind of smudgy - not loving it.  Then my friend Karen told me a brilliant "just in case" tip. Stamp the sentiment and before you lift the stamp off the paper, place your stamp-a-ma-jig in the corner of the stamp just in case.  Don't move the stamp-a-ma-jig but lift the sentiment stamp, re-ink the sentiment and stamp it right back down if needed (and I clearly needed to - LOL).  It worked perfectly!

I re-stamped my sentiment and glued it on top of the smudgy one.  Much happier now.  There really are no mistakes in rubber stamping :)

I love the bright colours and Taken with Teal is one of my fav colours – so sad it retired.

So you see, "Boys may Rock" but Karen really rocks with that great tip - thanks!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 5

It's Bellariffic Friday, it's a sketch and it's my friend Stephanie's birthday!  I realize I have used Ramona two weeks in a row now, but I adore her and Ramona Loves Cake was perfect for Stephanie's card.  I added some crystal effects to the berries and boy do they shine in real life!

I liked the paper I used on the inside because it had lines which made for perfect placement of the sentiment -  which comes with the image.  I love that!

Here's a little story about the yellow copics you see in this  photo but not on my card.  I wanted to make some "butter cream icing" and used Y00 with some Y11 and it was horrible!  I panicked as the whole image was coloured except for the cake.  Karen suggested using E50/E42 over top and it was perfect....although it changed my white cake to a chocolate/mocha cake but hey, a cake is delicious, no matter what flavour!

Have a great weekend.

Bellariffic Friday - Banneriffic

It's "Banneriffic" Bellariffic Friday!  The challenge was to make a banner or use a banner in your card.  I am waaaay behind on my Christmas card making for 2013 - okay, I hadn't even started so this is my first one...and yes, I know it's only March 1st but it's never to soon to start your Christmas cards.  I love having a box full when December rolls around - less stress.

Ramona and her friend, Mr. Penguin hadn't been inked up yet and I LOVE Ramona, so it was the perfect image to get me started on my Christmas cards.

I used a ton of copics as I was trying really hard to get my pleats and creases and shadows perfect.  It's a slow process but I'm happy with it.  Have a great weekend.
