Happy Birthday Denise - SSSC170

This is a super special birthday card for my sweet friend Denise - it's her birthday TODAY!!  She adores anything from MFT so I chose the adorable Mouse in the House character.  I used SSSC170 sketch but rotated it once to the right.

I stamped It's Your Birthday (such an appropriate name!) in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

The paper is MME Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky paired with SU Rich Razzleberry.  Her little shirt is paper pieced.  I added a tiny twinkle on the flower on her head, clear glaze pen to the icing on the cake and glitter to make her candle sparkle!  Denise loves all the little extra things on a card so I added lots, using MFT Scallop border die-namic with pearl baubles on top and then the gorgeous Royal Rose die-namic to make that rose out of Bubblegum felt .  I made two Leafy Flourishes with Spring Green felt.  I added another pearl bauble to the middle of the rose.

I also decorated the inside 'cause she loves that too!  A trio of banners made with Fishtail Flags Stax die-namics and I very bravely stitched a zig-zag across.

Happy Birthday Denise!!

Playing with Puppies

I needed a few cards for my stash and I liked the MFTWSC95 sketch so I had another go at it.

This time I used MFT PI Puppy Girl again - she's just so cute!  I pulled out my Basic Gray Max & Whiskers for the pattern paper.  The sentiment is from Clearly Sentimental About Pets and I stamped it on the File Tab die-namic.  A prima flower with a button in the middle and a loopy bow behind finished this card.

This card I just put together with the same papers and a tiny bit of the Monarch Border at the bottom with 4 blue dots.  Another prima flower, button and loopy bow and I have two more cards ready.

Bellariffic Friday - Take 3

I made this week's Bellariffic Friday card especially for three of our BellaBabes, Danabella, Carlabella and Cathabella.  They are all under the weather right now so please stop by their blogs and give them a friendly hello!

I stamped Fluey Huggabugg in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

I followed the "Take Three" challenge exactly - three papers: dotted pattern paper from my scrap bin and solid mustard and blue cardstock.  My three embellishments: button, twine and ribbon.  I used nesties to cut out the circle and scallop circle that Fluey is mounted on and the largest Fishtail Flags Stax for the banner.  She has magic wings courtesy of some glitter and very flushed cheeks.....'cause she's poorly :)

Here's hoping Dana, Cath and Carla are feeling better really soon!

Team Work - MFTWSC95

I had a special request for a birthday card and this week's MFTWSC95 sketch was perfect for it.  The card was for a doctor at work, from his nurse and his secretary.  The secretary had seen a previous card of mine with the doctor image but wanted to know if I could add more hair for her boss?  Nope, never mess with a PI - they are perfect as they are :)

I stamped the "staff" (World's Best Doctor, Best Medicine, Out on a Limb) in Memento Tuxedo Black in and coloured them with copics.  I personalized each staff person right down to their hair colour :)

The paper is MME Indie Chic "Ginger" and I had to leave off the flower from the sketch as the "staff" took up all the room!  I used SU Large Dots Texturz Plate on the background and SU Perfect Polka Dots on the white background.  The doctor has some shiny buttons from my rhinestone stash and I added a black one in the middle of his stethoscope.  The nurse and secretary both have lovely shiny shoes courtesy of several coats of clear glaze pen.  A bit of glitter on the girls and two black dots at the top finished this sketch.  I did the inside too but didn't take a photo - it just had some MFT Fishtail Flags Stax banners with bits of co-ordinating paper.

I had a lot of fun making this and I hope the doctor likes his card!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 21 - Polar Bear

This week's Bellariffic Friday is Sketch #21.  I've been itching to use my rhinestone circles and this was the perfect sketch for them!

I stamped Polar Bear Circle in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics (oops, C3 is upside down!).

The pattern paper is Lilybeedesign Christmas Cheer paired with SU Bashful Blue and Real Red.  I embossed the pattern red paper with Perfect Polka dots embossing folder but it might be hard to see.  The circle rhinestones fit perfectly over the polar bear image which I then layered on a scallop circle with a red solid circle behind.

Instead of the bow from the sketch, I added a banner made with the First Place Award Ribbon die-namic and wrapped the end with Bakers twine.  I added a red dot in each corner and some glitter on the image finished it off.

Bellariffic Friday - Halloween

Boo!  This week's Bellariffic Friday theme was Halloween - in your image, your colours or your papers.  I love Halloween so decided to use all three!

I stamped Little Witchy in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics, adding extra sparkle with some Atyou Spica pens.

The pattern paper is retired SU Halloween DSP and some Old Olive.  I used the Spiderweb embossing folder and the DSP was so thin it cracked the paper a bit but I like the bits of white showing through!  I used oval nesties to cut her out and mounted her on some black cardstock to make her pop a bit.  I thought the sentiment was perfect and I added a black button tied with some bakers twine.

She's a good witch which :) means there's lots of magic glitter around her!

Sweet Sunday Angel - SSSC169

I am on a Christmas card roll!  I played along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC169) and inked up this little sweetie.  Her name is Daisy and I have looked and looked for the proper name of this particular image, but can only find this link.

I stamped Daisy in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

The pattern papers are retired SU and you know I just HAD to paper piece her dress!  The sentiment is from Merry and Bright and I used the First Place Award Ribbon die-namic to cut it out and very bravely (!) did a zig zag stitch that I see on so many cards out there in blog land.  Her shoes are super shiny thanks to several coats of clear glaze pen.  A trio of red bonbons completed the sketch.  I used Stickles on her wings and a red and yellow Atyou Spica pen for some added glitter on the little halo of stars and her magic wand - I think it's a magic wand :)

I kept the inside pretty simple just adding a strip of co-ordinating paper.
Oh she does make me smile!

Rain or Shine - MFTWSC92

Wow, TWO posts in one day!  I'm just managing to squeeze this in before the deadline tomorrow - the long weekend threw me off.  This is my card for this week's MFTWSC92.

I stamped WTG Puddle Jumper in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

The pattern paper is from Lilybeedesign Handmade and I also used some Real Red and Baja Breeze.  Her raincoat is paper pieced and I added two rhinestones that I coloured red with my copic.  I used Seeing Spots embossing folder on the red cardstock.  The dies are Fishtail Flags Stax and Lacey Circles.  I added some yellow stitched ribbon to brighten it up.  My biggest decision was whether to use crystal effects on her boots or the puddle - I went with the puddle because I still like to splash in one with my wellies on!  I did the inside too adding a Simply Scallop border.

Well, I'm off to have the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers.....mmm!

Scrappy Snowmen

After a big Thanksgiving dinner yesterday I was relaxing through my google reader and came upon this sweet card that Karen made.!  I love snowmen and I thought, hey I can make one of these - I even have that paper.....well in my recycle bin!  I just recently threw out the last bits of MME 12 Days of Christmas as I didn't think they were big enough for anything but turns out they were perfect to copy Karen's card so I dug through the bin and found the scraps.

I stamped PI Holiday Hugs Snowman in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.

The cardstock is Kraft and Red which I embossed with Divine Swirl embossing folder.  I paper pieced his hat with the scraps from MME 12 Days of Christmas and added a layer of Stardust Stickles to his scarf and a bit of glitter for the snow.  Fishtail Flags Stax was perfect for the banner and the Be Merry sentiment is from PI Holly Girl.

This is a perfect card to mass produce because there is very little colouring.  To make it faster you could just colour his hat rather than paper piece it.  An added bonus is it's flat - so easy to mail!  I admit I got a little carried away making these.  Turns out I had more scraps than I thought and am happy to say I whipped up 10 (yes 10) of these little cuties to add to my Christmas card box!

Thanks Karen for letting me copy your card!!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 20

Happy Thanksgiving weekend!  This week's Bellariffic Friday theme was a sketch and I will admit, I took a bit of liberty with it....it's just that those Uptown Girls are SO leggy!!!

I stamped Uptown Girl Quinn in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

Quinn is so tall that I had to flip the sketch and "extend" the middle panel - I just couldn't bear to cut off her legs - those Uggs are too cute!  The paper is SU Cherry Cobbler, my favourite Christmas red and the pattern paper is Three Bugs in a Rug Let it Snow Candy Stripe.  I added a bit of red stripe bakers twine over the ribbon.  Her buttons have a layer of clear glaze pen to make them shine and I added a bit of glitter around her with some chunky glitter for the snow.  I love chunky glitter for snow!

I did the inside too but didn't add a sentiment yet.

It's a pretty simple card but Quinn doesn't like to be upstaged by a lot of embellishments! :)
